PRX Derm Perfexion is an innovative type of chemical peel that takes a new approach to tightening skin laxity (i.e. loose or wrinkled skin), minimizing the appearance of acne scars or stretch marks, and producing a more even skin pigmentation. Even better, PRX is not just for use on the face – virtually any part of your body can be treated!
How does PRX Derm Perfexion work?
What makes this treatment different from standard chemical peels is that PRX Derm Perfexion targets the dermis, the layer of the skin beneath the epidermis. It stimulates fibroblasts in the dermis to produce collagen and elastin, resulting in tighter and better-looking skin. And because it does not target the epidermis, “peeling” is kept to a minimum.
Another way PRX treatment differs is in the formulation itself. While it contains trichloroacetic acid (TCA) like other peels, it contains a lower amount. It also contains hydrogen peroxide and kojic acid to reduce peeling and inflammation of the epidermis.
Do I need to schedule recovery time after a PRX Derm Perfexion peel?
Absolutely not! You can arrive for your 30-minute medspa treatment, then apply makeup or sunscreen as soon as you leave. You don’t even have to worry about staying out of the sun afterward – a benefit which is truly a godsend in sunny Arizona!
Does this type of chemical peel have any discomfort associated with it?
Some clients experience a slight sting for a few hours after treatment.
What is the treatment schedule for PRX Derm Perfexion?
Your initial round of PRX peels will be provided once a week for four weeks by a member of our skilled professional staff. After that, retreatments are recommended every three to six months.
