How Botox Can Treat Frown Lines

Mar 21, 2018 | Botox

Botox is one of the most well-known anti-aging treatments, but many people may not actually know what Botox is specifically designed to treat. Botox treats both frown lines between the eyebrows and crow’s feet around the eyes and other areas of the face.

What should I do before treatment? First, make sure to double check with your doctor at North Scottsdale Laser & Skin Care Clinic that you are a candidate for Botox. Most people respond well to Botox, but certain medications or other items in your medical history may prevent you from being able to receive Botox treatments.

If you are prone to pain, we have ice packs and other topical numbing agents to help reduce the pain of injection.

What should I do after the treatment? No downtime is required, but sometimes our patients experience a bit of inflammation, swelling, or redness after receiving a Botox injection. If you are prone to redness, you may want to  bring makeup to cover up after the treatment has been completed.

How often do treatments need to be repeated? Typically, treatments last anywhere from three to six months, so most of our patients come in for treatments every couple of months.
