Microdermabrasion can help rejuvenate your skin by manually exfoliating the surface of your skin using a specialized machine. This treatment allows us to treat skin problems like acne, rosacea, and dryness.
If you’re interested in microdermabrasion, we’ll consult with you to make sure that it’s the right treatment for your areas of concern.
We’ll also discuss information such as your overall health and any medicines you take. This treatment isn’t recommended if you take isotretinon, a medication that’s used to treat severe acne.
If this procedure is the best treatment to address your areas of concern, we’ll determine which products and masks to use for your individualized treatment. The procedure is quick and easy and can often be done during a lunch hour.
Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive procedure that requires very little preparation, but there are several steps you can take to ensure that you’ll get the very best results possible:
The skin being treated should be free of makeup and creams. If you are already wearing these, we can cleanse your skin to remove them
Avoid prolonged sun exposure for several days to a week before your session. This will make sure that your skin isn’t damaged by a sunburn.
Waxing and shaving should be avoided for up to a week before your procedure. This will help make sure your pores don’t become infected and will minimize any irritation.
If you’ve had a chemical peel or other procedure, it’s best to wait a few weeks before having this treatment.
If you smoke, try to stop for a week beforehand if you can. This will help improve the flow of blood to the areas being treated.
Contact North Scottsdale Laser & Skin Care Clinic for more information about microdermabrasion. We offer a free consultation during which we’ll let you know if this procedure would be recommended for you.
