Acne can be the biggest pain… in the back. Fortunately, there are many solutions and treatments out there to help you get 
rid of that pesky back acne (“bacne”). Here are four skin care tips and acne treatments to help you vanquish your back acne once and for all.
- Identify the cause
Before you begin applying all the various acne treatments to your skin, you should attempt to figure out what’s causing the acne in the first place. Whether it’s on your face or on your back, pimples form when the pores that connect your oil glands to the surface of your skin get plugged. Common causes of back acne can be hygienic (i.e. bedclothes, workout clothes, or shower tools that have collected bacteria) or hormonal factors.
- Cleanse the right way
There are a variety of skin cleansers to choose from, and most include an active ingredient such as benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid. But the cleanser itself isn’t the only available weapon against acne—the other weapon is you. With cleansing, the timing of cleansing is incredibly important. Wash your back after, not before, you wash your hair. The ingredients in many shampoo and conditioner products are designed to stick to your hair, which means that they might cling to your skin and clog up your pores.
- Shower (or cleanse) right after a workout
After a workout, either use a wipe with acne-fighting power (i.e. salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide) to clean away the sweat and dirt that may have gathered there or just shower right away, using that opportunity to apply a cleanser. Please note, however, that even though you may feel hesitant to subject your acne-ridden skin to sweat and dirt in the first place, exercise is actually an excellent way to support skin health and attain clear skin.
4. Consider skin care treatments
