You may already be familiar with BOTOX® being used to temporarily reduce wrinkles on your forehead, between your eyebrows, or around your mouth. It is also used to make crow’s feet along the corners your eyes disappear. But did you know it can also be used to improve the appearance of the area under your eyes, too?

What Under Eye Problems Can BOTOX® Treat?

BOTOX® injections under your eyes can help make your lower eyelids appear plumper and fuller. This, in turn, helps reduce wrinkles under your eyes. It can also be used to minimize dark circles or bags under your eyes. The result is a more youthful and less tired appearance.

Is This Treatment Safe Under My Eyes?

Just as with any BOTOX® treatment, there is a risk of some side effects, including pain at the injection site, redness, or bruising. Because the area under your eyes is very delicate, there is a small chance that you might experience:

  • Swelling of the lower eyelid
  • Eye numbness

These side effects are typically temporary. As with any treatment involving an injectable, you should only have it performed by an experienced practitioner.
