• What makes Voluma™ different? The original Juvederm products work to smooth out wrinkles around your nose and mouth. Voluma™is the first and only FDA-approved gel that adds volume to your cheeks to counteract loss, instantly creating a more youthful profile. It gives your face a lift that is more subtle and natural-looking than surgery.

• How does it work? Voluma™ uses unique Vycross™ technology to provide a high concentration of crosslinked hyaluronic acid (HA). HA is a naturally occurring substance that keeps skin hydrated and soft. Juvederm fillers, including Voluma™, utilize a form of the HA that is found in your body.

• How is the treatment performed? Application of Voluma™ does not require surgery. The treatment is performed by injection, which can be completed during a single office visit.

• Is the process uncomfortable? An application of Voluma™ includes a small amount of lidocaine, a local anesthetic that acts to minimize any pain or discomfort.

• What can I expect during the recovery period? Vigorous exercise and prolonged exposure to sun and heat should be avoided during the first 24 hours. Most of the common side effects are minor reactions such as tenderness or swelling that generally last two to four weeks.
