Q&A with Dr. Jessica Anderson

     1. What is your favorite service offered at North Scottsdale Laser & Skin Care Clinic?
One of my favorite treatments is Botox because it “refreshes” your look in a short amount of time and lasts 3-4 months.  Many of our patients feel like it boosts their mood and they feel better!

  1. How do you help your patients achieve their skin care goals?

I believe the best way to achieve a patient’s skin care goals is to first listen to what their concerns are.  We all have areas of concern but listening to what bothers them in the mirror is the best way to optimize a treatment plan specifically for them and get results!

  1. What is the most common skin care problem that you come across?

The most common thing that people come in to our office about is that their skin is aging.  Unfortunately, there is nothing that we can do to stop the aging process but we have many things that we can do to help stimulate collagen, add volume back to the face, reduce wrinkles, get rid of brown spots and get that “glow” back.

  1. At what age should women begin an anti-aging skin care regimen?

I don’t think that there is a “magic” age when someone should start an anti-aging regimen.  I think that with all of the knowledge we have now, most parents are conscious of protecting their child’s skin.  It’s a great idea to get younger ones to start using sunscreen.   I think that prevention is the first step.  Although there are many things we can offer to those with more mature skin and haven’t done anything previously.  It’s never too late to start!

  1. Who is a good candidate for Botox?

I believe that a good candidate for Botox is a person who is creating “static” wrinkles.  This means that you see the wrinkles even when they aren’t creating that expression.

  1. What is the most important advice you can share about skin care?

I think the most important thing about skin care is to find a regimen that works for you.  Everyone’s skin is different and there is not one skin care line for everyone.  When you find something that works, stick with it.  I do believe that it is better to get medical grade products rather than over the counter ones because medical grade products are going to be more concentrated with active ingredients yielding better results.

  1. What is your favorite product offered at North Scottsdale Laser & Skin Care Clinic?

My favorite product is our TNS Essential Serum.  I feel like it’s the most “bang for your buck”. I, personally, don’t like a lengthy skin care regimen and it’s almost like having multiple products in one step.  Many of our patients have noticed results after one bottle!

  1. What is the best treatment for a youthful complexion?

One of the best treatments for a youthful complexion is a microdermabrasion.  It gets rid of the dead skin cells sitting on top of the skin, giving it a dull appearance.  Our aestheticians provides an hour long microdermabrasion that consists of microdermabrasion, steam, enzyme mask and extractions.  All of those things help get rid of any congestion in our skin giving us our “glow” back!

  1. What would you recommend to fight acne?

Acne is a tough thing.  Unfortunately, there is not one answer to get rid of it.  We have found that our acne package has been successful for many of our patients.  This includes our acne facial and Blu-U light therapy.  We often combine this with food allergy testing for optimal results.
