NovaThreads
NovaThreads are a less invasive and less demanding alternative to surgical facelifts. First used in cardiac surgeries, NovaThreads are absorbable surgical sutures that can assist with tightening the skin in the cheeks, around the jowls, and the neck.
NovaThreads can provide a neck lift and support to other structures of the lower face by providing support to allow healing. Healing is promoted by the skin tissues around the threads responding to the presence of NovaThreads by repairing themselves.
Are NovaThreads safe?
Absolutely. These threads are absorbed slowly by the body. Cardiac surgeons have used them for more than half a century. They are considered some of the safest materials for implant in the body.
How long does it take to implant NovaThreads?
The insertion of the threads takes just a moment, and no incision is involved.
What happens after the implant to tighten the skin and provide a neck lift?
Because of where the NovaThreads are implanted, they cause the skin to gently react by producing collagen. When this happens where skin is loose or sagging, new collagen will fill in gaps, making the skin appear firmer and tighter.
Will the threads leave scar tissue behind?
No. In the vast majority of cases, patients have no problems with the threads gradually dissolving over the course of four to six months.
